[US] New seasonal GWP at Barnes & Noble

Posted by ,

LEGO has announced a festive gift-with-purchase available exclusively from Barnes & Noble stores in the US, 6487475 Santa by the Fireplace

This seasonal set will be released tomorrow, free with LEGO purchases of $75 or more and available until stock runs out.

There seem to be no exclusive parts and I am sure instructions will be published before long, so those in other countries should be able to build this model if they wish.

To build an army of Santas or not. That is the question.

The LEGO Store exclusive GWP Mexico Postcard set would like a sharp word with the B&N Santa by the Fireplace set about stolen IDs. :)

They should be, it’s really bad policy.

Alway fun to see how long it takes for the inevitable 'I didn't understand the Lego regional exclusive announcement' post to appear!

By in Italy,

I honestly don't understand how it is possible for LEGO® to produce two items with the same article code (6487475) ...

In fact, the article (equivalent 5008075) corresponds to an exclusive promotional product for Mexico: "Mexico Postcard".

If it really is a set, this would seem more like a remixed reissue of the old 2011 seasonal sets (items 3300002 and 3300020).

By in New Zealand,

Damn it, America always gets the exclusive sets.

By in United Kingdom,

Eh, it’s nice enough, but hardly a must have. It’s limited availability is still annoying though.

By in France,

The set is available now! Looks like a nice Christmas pickup.

They wanna be 3300002 so bad

I won’t be picking this up to show solidarity with everyone around the world that can’t get it (jk I just don’t want it).

They are for retail sets. There are still numerous promotional sets that are region based.

I was under the impression though they'd stopped all regional exclusives after people complained about the chinese new year sets only being available to china, and that they'd released a statement to the effect all sets would be available worldwide.

That statement specifically said store exclusives are still going to happen.

By in Australia,

That just likes an alternative slip case to the yellow ones Lego sometimes use for VIP GWPs, so I’d expect to see it crop up in other regions.

By in Netherlands,

Nice. Looks like a simplified build of the cancelled Christmas GWP from last year. Good thing it doesn't have the Mrs. Claus minifig since it's a US-only GWP. Hope to see her in a future set though.

They are. It’s a store exclusive. Not the same thing, no matter how often people complain about it.

I have it in my hands right now, but the set number is 6490363. FWIW, I picked it up in-store with the purchase of 76423 Hogwarts Express.
